JOB SUMMARY

This role is responsible for driving analytics and process improvement initiatives within the procurement department. This role involves leveraging data to enhance procurement strategies, developing performance metrics and managing the department’s balanced scorecard. The position also includes conducting benchmarking exercises, implementing continuous improvement initiatives and overseeing the development and execution of procurement sustainability initiatives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Procurement Strategies and Initiatives:

  • Provide support to the Head of Strategy & Governance in the development and implementation of the department’s strategies or strategic initiatives.
  • Assist in the execution and monitoring of any action plans for the department’s strategies or strategic initiatives.

Data Analytics and Reporting:

  • Leverage centralized analytics capabilities for real-time monitoring and reporting of procurement activities.
  • Analyze procurement data and processes to identify trends and opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Provide actionable insights through relevant data-driven reports and presentations to senior management to support decision making.

Balanced Scorecard (BSC) Management:

  • Participate in the establishment of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the department's BSC, focusing on value-based metrics that align with strategic objectives of the department.
  • Develop metrics that measure the impact of procurement activities on overall business performance.
  • Consolidate, monitor and report the progress and achievements of KPIs on a regular basis.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead initiatives to streamline and implement continuous improvement and innovation in procurement workflows and processes.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team and across the procurement department.

Benchmarking and Best Practices:

  • Conduct ongoing benchmarking exercises to compare procurement processes against leading organizations in the industry.
  • Implement findings from benchmarking studies to drive process improvements and adopt best practices.
  • Stay informed about the latest updates and innovations in the procurement space and integrate them into department strategies and BSC.

Procurement Sustainability Initiatives:

  • Drive and undertake procurement sustainability initiatives that align with the strategic goals of the procurement department and the organization.
  • Continuously monitor and refine the implementation of sustainability initiatives in procurement processes to ensure that the overall sustainability goal of the department is achieved.
  • Procurement sustainability initiatives may include establishing a sustainability assessment framework, identifying sustainability elements to be incorporated as part of procurement exercises and monitoring the implementation of sustainability assessments on suppliers.

Change Management:

  • Drive change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new processes, technologies and methodologies within the procurement department.
  • Develop and execute change management plans, including training and communication strategies if necessary.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure procurement analytics and process improvement initiatives support broader business goals.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to gather requirements, share insights and drive collaborative projects.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Malaysian citizen
  • Not below 21 years old on the closing date of application
  • Pass Malay Language including oral test at the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level
  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management or other related areas
  • At least 3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management with added advantage in the following areas:
  • Proven track record of strategic planning and successful project execution
  • Strong proficiency in data analytics tools and software (e.g. Power BI, SAP Ariba)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and project management skills
  • Proven ability to lead strategic initiatives and drive continuous improvement
  • Exposure and past involvement in procurement sustainability initiatives
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience in the social security/protection organization/institution is a plus
