Purchasing, Procurement & Inventory (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics)

The Procurement Executive is responsible for managing the acquisition of goods and services necessary for the company's operations. This role involves sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that procurement processes align with the organization's cost, quality, and delivery objectives. The Procurement Executive works closely with suppliers and internal teams to optimize procurement strategies, manage supplier relationships, and contribute to overall operational efficiency. Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills are essential in ensuring that the company's procurement activities support its strategic goals.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and contractors to meet the company's procurement needs.
  2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable supply chains.
  3. Conduct supplier assessments and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  4. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure the best possible deals for the company.
  5. Draft, review, and manage contracts to ensure all terms and conditions are clearly defined and adhered to.
  6. Monitor contract performance and manage any disputes or changes that may arise.
  7. Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company’s operational goals and budget constraints.
  8. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to forecast procurement needs and plan accordingly.
  9. Ensure that procurement activities are aligned with project timelines and deliverables.
  10. Monitor market trends and price fluctuations in the oil and gas industry to make informed procurement decisions.
  11. Implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies without compromising quality or operational efficiency.
  12. Track and report on procurement spending and savings to support financial planning and budget management.
  13. Coordinate with logistics and warehousing teams to ensure timely delivery and storage of procured materials and equipment.
  14. Manage inventory levels to avoid overstocking or stockouts, optimizing the balance between supply and demand.
  15. Resolve any issues related to the delivery, quality, or availability of procured items.
  16. Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal, ethical, and company-specific guidelines.
  17. Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement, including supply chain disruptions and non-compliance with regulations.
  18. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and standards, particularly those related to health, safety, and the environment (HSE).
  19. Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier communications.
  20. Prepare regular reports on procurement performance, highlighting key metrics such as cost savings, delivery times, and supplier performance.
  21. Present procurement updates and insights to senior management and stakeholders.
  22. Monitor and occasionally lead team members to achieve overall department KPI.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

Minimum Diploma OR bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

WORKING EXPERIENCE

1- OR 2 years’ experience in procurement within the oil and gas industry.

COMPETENCIES & SKILLS

  1. Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  2. In-depth knowledge of procurement processes and best practices including sourcing for all kind of industrial equipment via the Internet.
  3. Familiarity with oil and gas industry standards, regulations, and market trends.
  4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  5. Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP, ARIBA, SMART GAP).
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Familiar with Microsoft Office software and computer literacy.
  8. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
