Collaborate in implementing procurement strategies aligned with project goals, budgets, and timelines, while assisting senior team members in monitoring supplier performance.
Perform cost and service evaluations, prepare supplier selection recommendations, and manage routine purchasing tasks, including issuing purchase orders and verifying invoices.
Assist in supplier negotiations to secure favorable terms, achieving cost savings without compromising quality.
Contribute to optimizing freight and shipping arrangements, supporting cost efficiency and smooth logistics operations.
Handle daily procurement transactions and provide support for additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Must possess at least a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in direct purchasing of construction materials within a main contractor environment is preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Knowledge of quantity surveying is an added advantage.
Strong ability to manage multiple priorities within deadlines and make logical, well-rounded judgments.
Willing to work overtime when required.
Ability to travel for projects and possess personal transportation.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly in English, Malay, and Mandarin.
Fluency in Mandarin is preferred, as the role involves dealing with Chinese suppliers.
