Job description

For this position, you will play a key role in procuring high-quality and cost-efficient supplies for our organization. You will follow procurement procedures, maintain an updated list of current and incoming inventory, and be responsible for the purchases. We are a close-knit team, and we are looking for collaborative people who are students at heart and teachers in a team.

Here is where you will come in:

As a Procurement Executive, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials from both local and overseas vendors. You will evaluate vendor quotations to ensure they align with the technical and commercial specifications required for each project. As you are in charge of the daily operational purchasing needs such as planning, issuing, and timely follow-ups on purchase orders, you are also required to advise internal and external stakeholders on issues regarding purchasing terms and conditions. Your roles include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Resolve supply, quality, service, and invoicing issues with vendors.
  2. Handle direct material purchasing.
  3. Assist in ISO Annual Performance Review for vendors.
  4. Evaluate supplier performance based on quality standards, delivery time, best prices, and ensure all criteria are met according to organizational requirements and expectations.
  5. Implement internal procurement strategies to cater to high delivery and short lead time requirements.
  6. Estimate and establish cost parameters and budgets for purchases.
  7. Create and maintain good relationships with vendors/suppliers.
  8. Make professional decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
  10. Review and analyze all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options.
  11. Develop plans for purchasing equipment, services, and supplies.
  12. Negotiate the best deal for pricing and supply contracts.
  13. Ensure that the products and supplies are of high quality.
  14. Travel to vendors’ sites to resolve delivery issues.
  15. Work with team members and the procurement manager to complete duties as needed.
  16. Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement / Engineering or equivalent certifications.
  2. Preferably a minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience.
  3. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and negotiation skills with suppliers and internal customers.
  4. Resourceful, self-driven, proactive, and an independent worker.
  5. Hardworking and meticulous with a positive attitude.
  6. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Access) and SAP.
  7. Able to work well under stress in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Have solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policies, and systems.
  9. Possess the ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions.
  10. Possess the ability to negotiate, establish, and administer contracts.
  11. Goal-oriented, and an organized team player.
  12. Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  13. Able to work well with management and staff at all levels.
  14. Have your own transport.
