About the role
Vekan Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a skilled and experienced Production Planner to join our team in Port Klang, Selangor. In this full-time role, you will play a crucial part in optimising our manufacturing operations and ensuring the smooth and efficient production of our goods.

What you'll be doing

1. Procurement & Purchasing:
   A Procurement & Purchasing Executive is responsible for sourcing and acquiring goods, materials, and services for an organization. They ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery while maintaining relationships with suppliers and ensuring compliance with company policies.
2. Key Responsibilities:
   
   1. Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with business goals.
   2. Analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
   3. Forecast procurement needs based on business requirements.
   4. Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms.
   5. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
   6. Conduct supplier assessments and performance evaluations.
   7. Ensure suppliers comply with company policies and industry regulations.
3. Purchasing & Negotiation:
   
   1. Prepare purchase orders (POs) and approve purchase requests.
   2. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms to ensure value for money.
   3. Manage procurement budgets and track expenses.
4. Inventory & Logistics Management:
   
   1. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate stock replenishment.
   2. Work with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
   3. Manage supply chain risks and resolve issues related to shortages or delays.
5. Compliance & Documentation:
   
   1. Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal and company regulations.
   2. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and vendor agreements.
6. Cost & Quality Control:
   
   1. Identify cost-saving initiatives while maintaining product/service quality.
   2. Implement procurement best practices to improve efficiency.
   3. Work with quality assurance teams to ensure purchased goods meet standards.
7. Stakeholder Collaboration:
   
   1. Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., finance, operations, production) to understand procurement needs.
   2. Communicate procurement updates and challenges to management.
   3. Use procurement software (ERP systems, SAP, Oracle, etc.) for purchasing and inventory management.
   4. Generate reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Knowledge of procurement software and ERP systems.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple vendors and contracts.
• Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards.
