Your Job
As Process Engineer you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery and maintenance of high-quality connectors, aiming to achieve optimum productivity with zero defects. This position will lead efforts in improving and debugging issues related to new products, coordinating closely with the transfer and design teams. Additionally, the Process Engineer will oversee projects related to product transfers, capacity expansion, new tooling/jig implementation, and qualification processes.
Our Team
The role is positioned within the Process Engineering Department of the automotive assembly sector, encompassing specialized areas such as production engineering, output management, and maintenance engineering.
What You Will Do
- Continually improve the efficiency and quality of the mass production assembly process through individual and team efforts, while improving and maintaining KPIs (e.g., POEE%, QAP, COPQ)
- Lead the analysis and identification of continuous improvement opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce scrap, and maintain product quality
- Collaborate with the MQA engineer to address customer complaints and provide both short-term and long-term corrective and preventive actions
- Clearly and concisely handle troubleshooting and tooling/jig maintenance responsibilities
- Initiate processes and product improvements through individual or team efforts
- Work with vendors on the design of assembly fixtures and make purchasing plans
- Lead and qualify any new product transfers
- Create and release documentation related to production, such as PFMEA, Flow Charts, Work Instructions, Tooling Lists, Spare Part Lists, Fixture GR&R, CPK, and SPC studies
- Train engineers and technicians in effective work methods and connector assembly technology
- Support the company's initiatives, including IATF 16949, ISO9001, Six Sigma, and Kaizen
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, electronics or technology
- Engineering experience in manufacturing engineering
- Proven experience in process engineering
- Ability to read drawings and perform calculations using shop math (trigonometry/geometry) to determine angles, bolt circles, hole opening positions, flat pattern developments, and bend radius, as well as any other necessary calculations for tool construction
- Proficiency with manufacturing design software, such as Siemens NX, CAD/CAM, SolidWorks, etc.
- Knowledge of process characteristics related to Man, Material, and Machine
- Strong time management and analytical skills
- Good communication and organizational skills, along with planning and analytical abilities
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle multitasking, prioritize tasks, and work effectively within a team
- Effective skills in establishing and maintaining working relationships with peers and cross-functional teams
- Fluent English language skills
