The Process Engineer will be responsible to contribute to the process engineering tasks required for the successful execution of engineering design projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards. To perform this role successfully, the individual will be involving in supporting the process engineering & preparation of drawings and technical documentation required for the execution of Industrial projects (including chemical, pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, biochemical, food and beverage, agrifood and any of industrial processing area) from concept design, FEED design and detailed design.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in reviewing process requirements and ensuring safety design in line with project standards and guidelines.
  • Support the preparation of high-quality engineering deliverables within established timelines.
  • Assist in developing process architecture for the project.
  • Perform basic material balance calculations and support production scheduling.
  • Perform pressure drop and hydraulic calculations.
  • Participate in the development and review of BFDs, UFDs, PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment data sheets.
  • Assist in drafting User Requirements Specifications, Equipment Specifications, and Process Descriptions.
  • Contribute to the detailed process engineering tasks under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Coordinate with process equipment vendors to ensure accurate and timely information exchange.
  • Assist in technical clarifications with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Support the preparation of Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) for vendors or subcontractors.
Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a related discipline.
  • 3-7 years of experience in process engineering, ideally with exposure to industrial projects.
  • Knowledge in engineering design principles and tools (BFDs, UFDs, PFDs, P&IDs).
  • Basic knowledge of process calculations, including material balances and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience in dynamic calculation (transient analysis) is an added advantage.
  • Exposure to equipment specification and process architecture for manufacturing facilities is an advantage.
  • Experience on equipment selection and process architecture for chemical and biopharmaceutical, and any other industrial-based manufacturing facilities will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as ASPEN HYSYS (for process simulation), SchedulePro (for production scheduling), and PipeFlo (for pipeline flow analysis) or equivalent is a significant advantage, enhancing process optimization and system efficiency.
  • Familiar with Naviswork and Revit layout will be an added advantage.
  • Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia.
  • Experienced in EPCM work environment.
  • Willingness to learn and contribute to a team.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Experience in a hybrid work environment and in multicultural teams is a plus.
