Job Summary

Acts under direct supervision, performing actuarial duties in order to provide highly accurate data and analyses for use by more senior actuaries in relation to reserving, reporting, quantitative risk management or the pricing of business.

Job Accountabilities - Key Accountabilities

1. Provide basic actuarial services under direct supervision to fulfill routine business requirements and to solve problems with a limited level of complexity diversity.
2. Perform statistical analyses, model, monitor and analyze data and develop models or programs for model building and analyses; interpret results of models and analyses.
3. Perform more complex analyses as assigned.
4. Compile and categorize increasingly complex data and documents, and verify factors and assumptions used in computations.
5. Assist in the development of risk based capital models as well as parameterization and allocation activities to support actuarial services.
6. Participate in the evaluation and review of new proposed processes and systems.
7. Demonstrate increasing knowledge of relevant actuarial disciplines and procedures, and apply this knowledge to achieve business objectives.
8. Work with actuarial colleagues to continue to develop understanding of company operations, business objectives and actuarial methodologies.
9. Assist in training less experienced actuarial personnel.
10. Demonstrate consistent progress towards local actuarial qualification.

Business Accountabilities

2. Monitor and analyze data according to tools, methods and formats and recommend appropriate action to mitigate risk and optimize business benefits.
3. Perform more complex analyses as assigned.
4. Compile and categorize increasingly complex data, documents and verify factors and assumptions used in computations to ensure robust output.
5. Assist in the development of risk based capital models as well as parameterization and allocation activities to support actuarial services.
6. Participate in the evaluation and review of new/proposed processes and systems, where analysis is conducted to support the implementation of upgraded systems.
7. Leverage actuarial skills and knowledge to provide specialist advice to address specific technical queries from internal clients in order to provide first class customer service.
8. Demonstrate further increasing knowledge of relevant actuarial disciplines and procedures, and apply this knowledge to achieve business objectives and deliver first class customer service.
9. Continue to advance in pursuit of local actuarial qualification and demonstrate consistent progress towards designation in order to maintain the talent pipeline for Actuarial.
10. Train less experienced actuarial staff.

Job Qualifications

Required

1. Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Other, Sciences and 2 or more years of experience in related field

Additional Education / Experience

1. Preferred: Experience in multiple functional areas (pricing, reserving, capital management, etc.)
