Plant Process Safety Engineer
Job description
- Develop and implement process safety management systems to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Conduct process hazard analyses (PHA) and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and mitigation measures.
- Review and update process safety documentation, including operating procedures, safety data sheets, and emergency response plans.
- Participate in safety audits and inspections to ensure adherence to process safety requirements.
- Provide technical support and guidance to operations and maintenance teams on process safety issues.
- Investigate process safety incidents and near misses, and develop corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and deliver process safety training programs for employees.
- Stay updated on the latest process safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Safety, or a related field.
- At least 5 years’ experience as a Process Safety Engineer in a chemical plant or similar related job.
- Strong knowledge of process safety regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA 1910.119, PSM).
- Experience with process hazard analyses (PHA) and layers of protection analysis (LOPA) to identify and mitigate potential process safety hazards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain process safety management systems.
- Lead process safety reviews, audits, and inspections.
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses (RCA).
