Purpose of Role:
Tenby International Secondary School is seeking an exceptional Physics Teacher to join our dedicated and growing team. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about learning, confident in their subject knowledge, and driven to inspire young people to say “I can!” as they grow in curiosity, resilience, and achievement. This role also includes tutor responsibilities, supporting a small group of students with their personal development, academic progress, and well-being. Tutors are central to our pastoral care approach and play a vital role in building positive relationships that help students thrive.

Tenby Schools Setia Eco Park, Kuala Lumpur campus is a large 3-18 school located on a green 20-acre site with excellent facilities and offers a welcoming, inclusive and stimulating place to work. We are a unique campus, home to Tenby International School, which consists of a Primary, and Secondary School (IPC, National Curriculum for England, CIE, IGCSE and A Level) and a Malaysian Private School, Sekolah Sri Tenby (Malaysian National Curriculum). The campus welcomes over 2000 amazing students, aged from 3 to 18 years and from 38 nationalities; with 1350 attending the international school, 600 of whom will be in the primary school. The Role
As a Secondary Physics Teacher, you will:
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that engage, challenge and support students. At Key Stage 3, you will teach ‘Science’, whereas Key Stage 4 will be focused on Physics. Opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 students may be available for the right candidate.
  • Foster a love for science and critical thinking through practical inquiry, experimentation and real-world applications.
  • Plan and assess learning using a range of methods, tailored to meet individual student needs.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in the Science Department and across the school to support whole-school initiatives.
  • Serve as a tutor to a designated form group, leading pastoral time, mentoring students, and communicating regularly with parents.
  • Actively participate in the broader life of the school through clubs, trips, events, and professional learning. All teachers run one CCA per week.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
We are seeking a reflective and committed educator who:
  • Holds a Bachelor’s degree and relevant teaching qualifications.
  • Has at least two years’ experience teaching Physics and KS3 Science, preferably in an international school environment.
  • Has strong subject knowledge and is confident delivering lessons up to IGCSE level (essential).
  • Enjoys working collaboratively and thrives as part of a supportive, energetic team.
  • Has strong interpersonal skills and communicates clearly with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Is fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Demonstrates a deep commitment to safeguarding, pastoral care, and inclusive education.
  • Is eager to grow professionally and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning.
