Responsibilities

  • Provide commercial contract negotiation, providing legal opinions on relevant issues, and assisting in reviewing contract terms and relevant legal documents;
  • Supervising the legality and compliance of project operation, providing legal consultation for the project, assisting in handling legal disputes related to the project, and drafting/reviewing/revising company-level legal documents and letters;
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, consultants, legal, and other parties involved in all contractual-related issues;
  • Manage risks and maximize opportunities identified in the project according to the available processes and procedures;
  • Handle legal affairs and disputes related to the company, and cooperate with the legal department of the headquarters and external law firms to safeguard the interests of the company;
  • Assist all legal aspects of the company's operations, including contract negotiation and review, risk management, compliance, and regulatory matters;
  • Provide general legal advice and organize legal training/knowledge sharing internally;
  • Work closely with China headquarters to develop and implement legal strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives;
  • Perform any other duties as directed.

Requirements

  • Degree in Law;
  • Admission to the Bar will be an added advantage;
  • Preferably 1-2 years working experience in legal practice;
  • Knowledge of construction law, contract law, corporate law, and commercial law will be an added advantage;
  • Experience in delay analysis, loss, and expense claims, and construction mediation, adjudication, and arbitration will be added advantages;
  • Able to speak and write in Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Malaysia;
  • Self-motivated, good interpersonal skills, responsible, result-oriented, and able to work independently.
