We are looking for a Packaging Engineering Manager on behalf of a client, a manufacturing company specializing in innovative and sustainable packaging solutions. This role involves overseeing packaging development, conducting feasibility studies, managing testing processes, and ensuring cost-effective, high-quality packaging solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Initiate and perform technical feasibility studies on new packaging. Manage all aspects of packaging test processes, including line trials and transit testing.
Provide technical support for field issue resolution.
Contribute new packaging ideas and actively participate in brainstorming sessions and meetings.
Present creative packaging concepts in both formal and informal settings.
Create physical and/or digital mockups for presentations.
Determine and monitor project schedules, progress, and costs to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery.
Research new trends in packaging, including materials and sustainability opportunities.
Identify and assess industry-leading materials, capabilities, and technology innovations.
Maintain accurate records of packaging specifications, design iterations, development progress, and lessons learned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Degree in Engineering or a related field.
Experience in the packaging industry is an advantage.
Familiarity with various packaging materials and their applications is desirable.
Proficiency in packaging and material testing per ISTA, ASTM, or related standards.
Experience with management system auditing (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, FSC, RBA) is a plus.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, NX) and packaging design tools (e.g., ArtiosCAD, Kasemake) is desirable.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to manage projects, adhere to schedules, and work within budget constraints.
