Operations Specialist, Procurement CoE Asia

The Asia Procurement Operations Specialist is responsible for providing Procurement services in the areas of supplier management and procurement system operation.

This role will ensure the seamless operation of the applicable system (Beeline). Beeline operation is critical to MetLife meeting the regulatory requirements for third-party supplier management, policy adherence, and appropriate documentation and reporting under the supervision of the Procurement Operation Manager. This role will also be responsible for building strong partnerships with key business unit leaders and providing insights around onboarding contingent resources.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Asia Procurement to optimize Procurement operations.
  • Provide services as a helpdesk and system operator of the 3rd party management system (Beeline) and other procurement-related systems to both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Manage Procurement-related company risk exposures and enhance non-financial risk controls and capabilities.
  • Ensure that relevant risks are appropriately identified, assessed, managed, and reported in line with MetLife’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensure execution of MetLife's sustainability policy and corporate social responsibility programs while dealing with third-party management and supplier diversity principles (where applicable).
  • Ensure process validation processes are in place to meet compliance and procurement requirements in the region.
  • Drive Procurement operations across the region and ensure efficient management and execution of relevant procedures.
  • Provide insights on procurement systems being utilized in the region to ensure full utilization to increase visibility and mitigate potential risks.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s degree or commensurate experience.
  • Experience using procurement/supply chain management software and tools, including Oracle, SAP Ariba, and/or Envision would be an advantage.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and networking skills.
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success.
  • Advanced skills in MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
