Operations Manager (Logistic, Sea Freight)

Company Background:

We represent a leading global logistics provider who focuses on Express, Special Delivery, Air Freight, and Sea Freight in Shah Alam. As they are expanding, they are looking for an Operations Manager to join the team!

Job Scope:

• To head the Sea Freight Department, reporting to the Country Manager, inclusive of Export, Import, declaration team, and outside operations.
• Ensure the department is running smoothly at all times, managing workforce including leaves and holidays, as well as processes, SOP, and job segregation.
• Retain and maximize gross profit per job.
• Ensure data accuracy in our system related to shipments such as quantity, destination, and salesmen code.
• Become tech-savvy with all tools used in the department.
• Ensure high quality of service in the sea freight department.
• Proactively manage and build relationships with external stakeholders: customers, government authorities, port authorities, and vendors.
• Proactively handle and build relationships internally: Sales Support, finance, sales, other stations, and management.
• Generate new SOPs to cater for new processes, continuously upgrade current SOPs to enhance operating efficiency, reduce costs, and achieve KPIs.
• Manage and control costs, bringing suggestions for improvement whenever possible.
• Adhere to all corporate policies, guidelines, and statutory requirements, adopting these changes and incorporating them into the teams.

Job Requirements:

• At least a Diploma/Bachelor's degree in any relevant field.
• At least 4 years of working experience as Operations Manager in the logistics field.
• Experience in Sea Freight.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
