Operations Analyst - Logistics & Freight

Job Responsibilities (Open-Ended Scope):

This role involves overseeing the overall operations of a Command Center, covering a wide range of functions such as:

1. Presenting the Command Center’s capabilities to clients or visitors, including GPS tracking, warehouse surveillance (via CCTV), and related systems.
2. Monitoring system performance and escalating any GPS or technical issues to the appropriate support teams for resolution.
3. Managing geo-fencing activities and ensuring key locations like customer sites, depots, rest stops, and points of interest are accurately mapped for tracking and reporting.
4. Keeping an up-to-date inventory of vehicles (e.g., lorries, prime movers) equipped with GPS for tracking ownership and deployment.
5. Ensuring that any driver violations are promptly reported to the relevant personnel for appropriate action.
6. Administering user access rights for GPS systems and maintaining accurate records of these permissions.
7. Maintaining proper documentation and archiving both electronically and in hard copy formats as needed.
8. Handling initial troubleshooting of equipment and software issues, and coordinating with IT or vendors for further support.
9. Overseeing Command Center staffing, including scheduling and resource allocation.
10. Ensuring efficient use of manpower and optimizing operations within the center.
11. Supporting internal teams with technical issues related to hardware or software.
12. Monitoring the functionality of internal systems such as KNCC and ensuring minimal downtime.
13. Coordinating with IT on issues related to databases, enterprise systems, network connectivity, and other infrastructure concerns.
14. Compiling and submitting periodic reports as requested by management.

Requirements:

• A degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, CIMT, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the transportation or logistics sector, with strong IT skills.
• Familiarity with GPS tracking systems (e.g., GamTrack, Astrata, Gussmann, DataFM) and database tools like SQL Server and Enterprise Manager.
• Solid understanding of both hardware and software systems is advantageous.
• Strong skills in presentations, reporting, public speaking, and data analysis.
