Job description
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize retail operations, increase revenue, improve customer experience, and achieve business objectives.
  • Lead and manage RTM HQ Team and Store Operation Team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure high performance and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee all aspects of retail operations, including inventory management, merchandising, sales forecasting, and stock levels to maximize efficiency and profitability.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), sales data, and operational metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and drive sales growth.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures governing retail operations, including health and safety standards, labor laws, and industry regulations, to mitigate risks and liabilities.
  • Foster a customer-centric culture and implement initiatives to enhance the customer experience, resolve customer complaints, and build customer loyalty.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as marketing, finance, human resources, and IT to coordinate activities, share information, and support organizational initiatives.
  • Stay up to date on market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to anticipate changes in the retail landscape and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Evaluate and implement retail technology solutions and application tools to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization efforts to drive operational excellence, increase productivity, and maintain competitiveness in the retail industry.
  • Identify training needs, develop training programs, and provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of retail staff.
  • Participate in strategic planning for retail expansion, including opening new stores, entering new markets, and exploring growth opportunities.
  • Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost control and alignment with financial objectives.
  • Monitor and ensure the successful execution of store opening projects, renovations, and closures, maintaining adherence to timelines and quality standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including suppliers, landlords, and regulatory bodies, to support smooth operations and business growth.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives within retail operations, promoting environmentally responsible practices and contributing to the organization’s corporate social responsibility goals.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration across international markets, aligning global strategies with local execution.
  • Conduct regular store visits and audits to assess operational performance, identify challenges, and ensure adherence to company standards.
  • Act as a key representative of the company’s retail operations in overseas markets, fostering a positive brand image and ensuring alignment with global corporate values.

Requirements:

  • Education:
    A bachelor's degree in business administration, retail management, marketing, finance, or a related field is often required. A master’s degree is advantageous.
  • Experience:
    Significant experience in retail management and operations is typically required, with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in progressively responsible roles. Experience in a leadership or managerial position within a retail environment is highly desirable, ideally including experience managing multiple stores or locations.
  • Retail Industry Knowledge:
    A deep understanding of the retail industry, including trends, market dynamics, and best practices, is essential. Demonstrated knowledge of retail operations, merchandising strategies, inventory management, and customer service principles.
  • Leadership and Management Skills:
    Strong leadership and management skills with a proven track record of leading and motivating teams to achieve goals, as well as experience in performance management, coaching, and talent development.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities:
    The ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions is important for optimizing retail operations and driving business performance. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to implement effective solutions to operational challenges.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
    Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effectively communicating with team members, senior management, and other stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Organizational and Planning Skills:
    Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously. Strong planning and time management skills are essential for meeting deadlines, managing resources, and achieving objectives.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    Familiarity with retail technology systems, such as point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management software, and CRM platforms. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability:
    Adaptable to change and comfortable working in a dynamic environment where priorities may shift rapidly.
  • International Experience:
    Experience working in or managing retail operations in international markets is highly desirable. Understanding of cultural differences and the ability to navigate diverse business environments effectively.
  • Travel Requirements:
    Willingness and ability to travel extensively, both domestically and internationally, as required by the role.
  • Strategic Thinking:
    Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to align operational goals with the broader organizational vision and objectives.
