Public Relations: Take charge of developing and implementing public relations campaigns to enhance awareness of the organization's mission, initiatives, and accomplishments. This will involve writing press releases, organizing press conferences, and pitching stories to media outlets.
Government Relations: Build and maintain relationships with government officials and agencies to advocate for policies that align with the organization's objectives. Keep abreast of legislative and regulatory developments that could impact the organization and devise strategies to address them.
Community Engagement: Engage with local communities and stakeholders to understand their concerns and interests. Establish outreach programs and initiatives to cultivate positive relationships and support community development efforts.
Crisis Management: Prepare for and effectively handle crisis situations that may impact the organization's reputation or operations. Develop crisis communication plans, coordinate responses with key stakeholders, and manage media inquiries during emergencies.
Internal Communications: Formulate strategies for internal communications to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with organizational goals. Keep employees informed about important initiatives, developments, and achievements through newsletters, memos, and other communication channels.
Event Management: Plan and coordinate events like conferences, forums, and public meetings to promote the organization's mission and engage stakeholders. This includes managing logistics, securing speakers, and driving attendance.
Media Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor media coverage of the organization and its issues to assess public perception and identify proactive engagement opportunities. Analyze media trends and metrics to measure the effectiveness of communication efforts.
Stakeholder Relations: Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including industry partners, advocacy groups, and influential opinion leaders. Collaborate with internal teams to identify common goals and collaboration opportunities.
Graphic Design: Create visually appealing materials to support communication initiatives, including designing brochures, infographics, social media graphics, and presentations.
Minimum Requirements
Proven working experience in public relations required.
Proven track record designing and executing successful public relations campaigns at both a local and national level.
Experience in acting as a company spokesperson; comfortable and skilled in both broadcast and print media interviews.
At least 5 years experience in public relations.
Bachelor degree in Marketing or equivalent.
Strong relationships with both local and national business and industry media outlets.
Exceptional writing and editing skills.
Solid experience with social media including blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
