About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse to join our team at the Kumar Eye Specialist Centre in Bukit Mertajam, Penang. As a Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our ophthalmologists in delivering the best possible treatment and outcomes for our patients. What you'll be doing

1. Assisting ophthalmologists during examinations, procedures and treatments
2. Preparing examination rooms, sterilising equipment and maintaining a clean and organised work environment
3. Administering medications, treatments and injections as directed by the ophthalmologists
4. Monitoring patients' vital signs and providing compassionate care throughout their visit
5. Educating patients on their conditions, treatment plans and post-operative care
6. Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records and documentation
7. Collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure the best possible patient outcomes

What we're looking for

1. A registered nurse or medical assistant with a valid practicing certificate
2. At least 2 years of experience in a general medical or surgical nursing role
3. Strong clinical skills and knowledge of ophthalmology, including eye anatomy and common eye conditions
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families and the healthcare team
5. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
6. A compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and electronic medical record systems
