Network Engineer - Based in Senai Johor

Job Overview

Responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting an organization’s network infrastructure to ensure reliable and efficient communication between devices and systems. This role requires a deep understanding of networking technologies, protocols, and best practices to maintain optimal network performance and security.

Responsibilities

1. Design and implement complex network solutions following business requirements.
2. Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., Huawei, Aruba, Fortinet, Sangfor, load balancers).
3. Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
4. Perform disaster recovery operations and data backups when required.
5. Implement and maintain network security protocols and procedures.
6. Provide technical support to end-users and other team members.
7. Optimize network performance through monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting.
8. Confer with network users about solving existing system problems.
9. Recommend upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment.
10. Monitor network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made.
11. Provide training and mentorship to junior team members.
12. Maintain comprehensive network documentation including network diagrams, inventory, and configurations.
13. Manage servers, including server hardware and software, handling tasks like server setup, configuration, maintenance, security, updates, backups, and ensuring server availability and performance.

Qualifications

Education

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

Experience

1. Proficiency in network protocols, routing, switching, firewall configurations, VPN setups, and network security.
2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent communication and leadership abilities.
3. Several years of experience in network engineering roles, with a proven track record of designing and managing complex network infrastructures.
4. Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
5. Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts and technologies is a plus.

Certifications

1. If available: CCNA, CCNP or a related field.

Skills

1. Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
2. Proficient in designing and deploying network architectures (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi).
3. Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
4. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in simple terms for non-technical stakeholders.
