Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Delivery: Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and rigorous lessons in humanities subjects, including history, literature, geography, and social studies, aligned with school curriculum standards.
Student Engagement: Inspire and motivate students through innovative teaching methods that connect historical and cultural concepts to contemporary issues.
Differentiation: Employ a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with different learning styles and abilities.
Assessment: Design and implement formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress, provide feedback, and guide instructional decisions.
Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning and personal growth.
Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, including other teachers, administrators, and support staff, to create interdisciplinary learning experiences and contribute to a collaborative school culture.
Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational best practices, curriculum updates, and pedagogical strategies.
Parent Communication: Maintain open and regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and school events.
Extracurricular Involvement: Participate in school events, contribute to the extracurricular life of the school, and support student activities outside the classroom.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in a humanities related field is required. A Masters degree or teaching certification is strongly preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience is preferred. Experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
Full Teaching Qualification: PGCE, B.Ed., QTS, State License or equivalent.
