Qualifications

• Preferably a Diploma or Degree in Retail Management, Business, or Accounting background.

Knowledge & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of retail buying experience.
• Track record of successful category management.

• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is preferred.
• Good negotiation and influence ability with acumen for buying.
• Financially savvy with strong decision-making skills.
• Ability to analyze sales figures; good analytical skills and business sense.

Responsibilities

• Manage the relevant category and build product lines to meet sales, margins, merchandising, and profit objectives.
• Work between quantum profit and margins, buying and commercial gross to close deals and achieve KPIs based on category.
• Negotiate with suppliers to maximize the product range’s sales, profit, and margin while delivering within budget.
• Conduct promotional analysis and measure promotional performance; set optimal promotional pricing levels.
• Manage stock and catalogue commitment in line with agreed promotional activities and peak sales opportunities.
• Manage catalogue planning to ensure catalogues meet customer profiles and reflect the correct product mix to maximize market opportunities.
• Manage healthy inventory and inventory turnover.
• Review product performance periodically to reduce aged stock.
