Generation Two Thousand Apparel Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a diligent and experienced Assistant Merchandising Manager to join our dynamic team in Kuala Lumpur. In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in planning, coordinating, and executing successful merchandising strategies to drive sales and profitability for our leading retail apparel brand.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective merchandising plans to optimize product assortment, inventory levels and in-store presentation
• Analyse sales data, market trends and customer behaviour to inform buying decisions and inventory management
• Collaborate with the buying team to ensure the right products are purchased and delivered to stores on time
• Oversee the visual merchandising of stores to create an engaging and compelling shopping experience
• Monitor stock levels, identify slow-moving items and recommend appropriate markdown strategies
• Lead and motivate the merchandising team to achieve sales and profitability targets
• Champion best practices in merchandising and share knowledge with the wider organization

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of experience in a similar merchandising role, preferably within the retail apparel industry
• Proven track record of driving sales and profitability through effective merchandising strategies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
• Excellent visual merchandising skills and a keen eye for detail
• Proficient in using merchandising and inventory management software
• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
