Mechanical Rotating Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Rotating Engineer to join our team in Kerteh, Malaysia on a 6-month + 6-month direct contract with our end client. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 7 years of experience in downstream, petrochemical, and EPC projects. This role requires immediate availability and involves overseeing the selection, design, installation, and maintenance of rotating equipment to ensure operational reliability and efficiency.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Design, analyze, and optimize rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, turbines, and fans.
2. Provide technical support for the selection, procurement, installation, and commissioning of rotating machinery.
3. Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues related to rotating equipment.
4. Conduct performance evaluations, failure analyses, and reliability assessments.
5. Review and ensure compliance with industry codes and project specifications.
6. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, vendors, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.
7. Prepare technical reports, specifications, and equipment datasheets.
8. Conduct site inspections, testing, and provide technical recommendations for improvements.
9. Support maintenance teams in developing predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. 5 to 7 years of experience in rotating equipment engineering within downstream, petrochemical, or EPC projects.
3. Strong knowledge of rotating machinery design, operation, and maintenance.
4. Familiarity with industry standards such as API, ASME, and ANSI.
5. Experience with condition monitoring and reliability assessment techniques.
6. Proficiency in engineering software for rotating equipment analysis.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
8. Immediate availability to join and willingness to be based in Kerteh, Malaysia for the contract duration.
