Mechanical Engineer

Sime Darby Property Berhad is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to be part of our innovative engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of mechanical systems within our property development projects. You will apply your engineering knowledge to ensure all mechanical systems operate efficiently and comply with industry standards. Your role will involve collaborating with architects, electrical engineers, and project managers to integrate mechanical systems into buildings, focusing on HVAC, plumbing, and other essential mechanical services. You will also conduct inspections and tests on mechanical installations and equipment, analyzing results to ensure functionality and safety. The ideal candidate will be adept at problem-solving and effective in communicating technical concepts to non-engineering stakeholders. Responsibilities

• Design and analyze mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to determine project requirements
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated solutions
• Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems
• Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of existing systems to ensure optimal performance
• Prepare technical documentation, including reports, specifications, and design calculations
• Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulations.
  
  

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus
• Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within the property development sector
• Proficient in CAD software and mechanical design tools
• Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Knowledge of sustainability practices and building codes is desirable
