We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Material Planner to join our team at the Cadbury Shah Alam Plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely planning of raw materials and packaging materials to support production schedules, while optimizing inventory levels and minimizing costs. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of supply chain processes, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

How you will contribute:

1. Material Planning & Forecasting:

1. Develop and maintain material plans to support production schedules and business objectives.
2. Collaborate with supply planning, procurement, and production teams to align material requirements with production forecasts.
3. Monitor and analyze material usage trends to anticipate future needs and mitigate risks.

2. Inventory Management:

1. Optimize inventory levels to ensure availability of materials while minimizing excess stock and obsolescence.
2. Conduct regular inventory reviews and implement strategies to improve inventory turnover.
3. Identify and address potential stock shortages or overages proactively.

3. Supplier Collaboration:

1. Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any supply related issues.
2. Monitor supplier performance and lead times to ensure alignment with production schedules.
3. Participate in supplier negotiations and contract reviews to secure favourable terms for Cadbury Shah Alam.

4. Cross-Functional Coordination:

1. Liaise with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure seamless material flow.
2. Support new product launches by ensuring materials are available as per project timelines.
3. Provide input into the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to align material plans with business goals.

5. Reporting & Analysis:

1. Generate and analyse reports on material availability, inventory levels, and supplier performance.
2. Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the supply chain.
3. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to material planning activities.

6. Compliance & Risk Management:

1. Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
2. Identify and mitigate risks related to material availability, supplier reliability, and market fluctuations.

Education / Certifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

Job specific requirements:

1. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in material planning, supply chain, or a similar role within a manufacturing environment (FMCG experience preferred).
2. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
5. Knowledge of inventory management principles, demand planning, and procurement processes.
6. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
