The Masking Supervisor oversees and coordinates the masking process in surface treatment fabrication. This includes managing a team of masking operators to ensure components are properly masked before surface treatment processes like painting, plating, or anodizing. The supervisor is responsible for ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance with company and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management:

• Supervise and train masking operators.
• Assign daily tasks and monitor team performance.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and company policies.

Process Oversight:

• Coordinate masking activities to meet production schedules.
• Ensure proper masking of parts to protect specific areas from surface treatments.
• Oversee the removal of masking after treatment and ensure quality results.

Quality Assurance:

• Inspect masked components to ensure they meet customer specifications.
• Work closely with the Quality Control team to address any defects or non-conformances.

Material and Resource Management:

• Monitor inventory of masking materials such as tapes, plugs, and coatings.
• Request procurement of supplies as needed to avoid production delays.

Technical Expertise:

• Provide guidance on complex masking requirements for intricate components.
• Stay updated on industry standards and advancements in masking techniques.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of masking processes, materials used, and production output.
• Prepare and submit reports on team performance and production metrics.
• Coordinate with the Surface Treatment and Fabrication teams to ensure seamless workflow.
• Participate in meetings to discuss production goals, challenges, and solutions.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of experience in masking or surface treatment processes, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Familiarity with masking materials, tools, and techniques.
• Understanding of surface treatment processes (e.g., anodizing, plating, coating).
• Strong ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of accuracy and quality focus in masking operations.
