Straumann is a pioneer and global leader in implant dentistry. In collaboration with leading clinics, research institutes and universities, Straumann researches, develops and manufactures dental implants, instruments, prosthetics and tissue regeneration products for use in tooth replacement and restoration solutions or to prevent tooth loss.

Job Purpose

The Marketing Specialist is a core function within Straumann Malaysia Marketing and TE (Training & Education) activities. Occasionally, help out SEA distributors for their marketing collaterals. The objective of the role is to bring information, value added services, activities to our dentists and their customers, the patients, by way of working with the local partners (subsidiaries and distributors). This position is based at Straumann Malaysia office. The position reports to SE Asia Commercial Director temporarily and eventually to Marketing Manager of Straumann.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  1. Be a strong partner to subsidiary and distributors in planning, executing, and managing Marketing Communication, Value Added Customer Services (VACS), and digital marketing. Coordinate regional synergy as needed.
  2. Plan, organize, and ensure successful execution professional congresses attended by Straumann and regional customer events run by Straumann Malaysia.
  3. Seek opportunities for regional events and professionally execute all related activities.
  4. Gatekeeper for collateral produced by SEA/HQ and actively share MarCom success stories from one market to all.
  5. Work with external vendors for events, printing, digital suppliers and drive proper branding regionally.
  6. Conduct thorough market research, which may include taking surveys, doing desktop research, sending emails and making calls, and even attending product launches of rival companies when needed.
  7. Attend workshops and refresher courses in sales and marketing.
  8. Assist with new product releases and events.
  9. Identify new market opportunities and relay this information to the Manager and other relevant stakeholders.
  10. Make helpful product recommendations and suggestions to increase revenue.
  11. Manage marketing budget and expenses.

Experience

The ideal candidate is one who can apply analytical thinking and experience-based judgment to complex challenges by focusing on the critical issues and constraints that affect business performance. The ideal candidate should also demonstrate the following:

  1. 3-5 years’ experience in either corporate or on agency side with strong execution in managing MarCom & event projects involving multiple stakeholders such as agencies, freelancers and corporate managers.
  2. A strong understanding of digital marketing concepts such as email marketing, social media marketing will be a bonus.
  3. Strong project management skills and is a structured thinker.
  4. Working ability with common design tools (incl. Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and understand design concepts efficiently will be a plus.
  5. Ability to maneuver SAP and customer database is a plus.

Education and Personal Attributes

  • Professional experience with a Degree and/or Master’s degree required.
  • Ability to embrace ambiguous situations, navigate through complex issues and is result and solution oriented focus.
  • Strong people development skills: ability to provide colleague and distributors the necessary leverage to implement projects.
  • Self-motivated with an appetite for working in a lean environment and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects according to project plans, including scope definition, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Team player who is able to work in a business/expert function matrix and comfortable with working in a matrix organization.
  • Able to adapt to rapid business changes proactively with a “can-do” attitude.
  • Hands-on in defining and execution of activities.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a high sense to drive business and performance.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and proactive personality.
  • Comfortable with people interaction and interest in building relationships; strong ability to collaborate effectively with all levels.
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and oral) and any other Asian language skills preferred due to the region that this role supports.
  • Strong culture awareness and comfortable to interact with different cultures and stakeholders.
