Job Description

Cricut is seeking experienced and versatile manufacturing Process Engineer to join our Global Quality Engineering team in Malaysia. You will use your experience, expertise, and resourcefulness to identify, analyze and solve problems, develop goals and objectives to meet short-term and some long-term process quality goals. The SQE will also focus on leading the Process Engineering and development during NPI projects as well as supporting the jig/fixtures validation or Work Instruction / SOP changes due to ECO execution or any product configuration changes that require a review and adjustment on manufacturing process at Contract Manufacturers (CMs). You are required to drive and work collaboratively with CMs on continuous improvements to improve the process yield or throughput of CMs production. You should be able to drive the projects independently, represent Cricut on Process related concerns in meetings with cross-functional project teams and with contract manufacturing partners.

NPI phases Involvement (Concept-EVT-DVT-MP)

  1. Creating and maintaining production, process and manufacturing related documents.
  2. Cycle time measurements.
  3. Layout creation for the overall manufacturing process.
  4. New Process qualification and Validation.
  5. Production Line Audit before hand over to the Sustaining Quality team (SQE).

Mass Production (MP) -Postproduction phase

  1. Monitor and solve daily process issues with CMs.
  2. Monitor the statistical process control and trend for defect rates.
  3. Continues process improvements Audit for CMs.
  4. Find opportunities to improve the process to achieve more productivity and reduce manufacturing costs.
  5. Introducing new technologies that can improve productivity.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/manufacturing/EE Engineering or related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience in Process Engineering working in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Good knowledge of Takt/Cycle time and Manufacturing Yield improvement effort.
  • Experience in consumable electronics, appliances, and knowledge in developing jig and fixtures and process equipment is essential.
  • Experience in the consumer electronics and consumable products is added advantage.
  • Must have prior experience managing supplier relationships especially knowhow in Process development and process validation.
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Minitab and GR&R knowledge.
  • Strong problem-solving and facilitation skills.
  • Exceptional written and oral communications in English.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Experience in communicating with cross-functional team members and suppliers.
  • Must be able to be based at CMs for 80% of the working hours.
