Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement automation in mechanical assembly, press shop, metal fabrication and inspection processes
• Prepare investment documentation, equipment purchases and installation
• Prepare scope of work and manufacturing automation documentation
• Coordinate manufacturing automation projects
• Develop systems and layouts that follow lean manufacturing philosophies of one-piece flow and Kanban, with emphasis on mistake proofing.
• Lead and direct meetings with other team members and key department functional team members
• Manage tooling, gauge design and drawings
• Machine setup and troubleshooting
• Provide training and guidance to all employee levels in the operation and maintenance of new equipment.

Job Requirements:

• Manufacturing Automation Engineer with 3-5 years’ experience
• BSc/BEng in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
• Process oriented and system thinking mindset
• Tool and fixture design and GD&T
• Understanding and functional knowledge of PLC’s, low voltage controls, three phase power distribution, vision systems, electronic actuators, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics and robotics controls
• Machine specification and purchase order writing
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration capabilities
• Design and application knowledge of ergonomic and machine safety standards
• AutoCAD/Solidworks/MS Office suite
• Excellent communication skills (written and public speaking)
