Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures that comply with company and legal standards.
  2. Monitor the adherence to safety protocols and address violations or potential hazards promptly.
  3. Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and site inspections across all company properties.
  4. Ensure all safety equipment and facilities are maintained, functioning properly, and accessible at all times.

Regulatory Compliance:

  1. Stay updated on safety regulations, property laws, and industry best practices, ensuring company compliance.
  2. Liaise with government and regulatory bodies regarding safety standards, certifications, and inspections.
  3. Ensure all necessary permits and licenses related to safety are acquired and maintained.
  4. Lead investigations for any safety incidents, accidents, or near-misses, including root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
  5. Prepare detailed incident reports and recommend improvements to prevent recurrence.
  6. Serve as the point of contact for emergency situations, ensuring swift and appropriate response measures are in place.

Safety Management:

Training and Awareness:

  1. Develop and conduct safety training programs for employees, contractors, and tenants.
  2. Raise awareness about workplace safety, emergency procedures, and evacuation plans.
  3. Organize safety drills and simulations for fire, earthquake, or other emergency situations.
  4. Identify potential safety risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  5. Collaborate with other departments (Engineering, Property Management, Security) to reduce risks associated with maintenance, construction, and operational activities.
  6. Ensure contractors and external parties comply with safety policies during their work on company premises.

Reporting & Documentation:

  1. Maintain accurate safety records, including incident logs, training records, and safety audit reports.
  2. Present safety performance metrics to senior management, identifying areas for improvement.
  3. Regularly review and update the company’s safety manual and related documentation.

Job Specifications:

Education & Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
  2. Relevant safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, CSP) are preferred.
  3. Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a safety management role, preferably within property management, construction, or facility management.

Skills and Competencies:

  1. Strong knowledge of safety regulations, fire safety, emergency response, and risk assessment techniques.

Personal Attributes:

  1. Ability to respond to emergency situations outside of standard working hours.
  2. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to train and influence staff at all levels.
