About the Role

The successful incumbent will be managing and overseeing the key principles and strategy of media management and relations for PLI in supporting its growth; as well as those for establishing, maintaining and shaping positive relationships with stakeholders critical to PLI business.

Key Accountabilities

Media Relations

  • Design and prepare formulation of key principles and strategies for proactive media engagements and relationships at international, regional, national and local levels where relevant.
  • Building strong network and sustain proactive, positive and open relations with key editors, industry correspondents and reporters.
  • Create stakeholder mapping and profiling to identify key media and media trends.

Media Communications

  • Develop media communications, including drafting press briefings, and press releases, their distribution to the target groups and monitor the preparation of press clippings.
  • Lead the implementation of media crisis communication.
  • Develop media related trainings.
  • Development of targeted media communications plans linked to business strategy for top management, and senior business leaders.

Stakeholder Management

  • Design and prepare formulation of key principles and strategies for establishing, maintaining and shaping positive relationships with stakeholders critical to PETRONAS business.
  • Design and prepare formulation and running of campaigns to influence stakeholders thinking, regulations and drive.
  • Create stakeholder mapping and profiling to identify key stakeholders with influence and its trending.

Event Management

  • Design and execute events based on requirement of managing media and stakeholder.

Minimum Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Communications or any related field of studies.
  • At least 8 years' experience handling corporate communications, media relations and/or event management.
  • Excellent command of English, written and verbal. Other languages are an advantage.
  • Great interpersonal skill.
  • Able to do good presentations, whether material preparation or delivering it.
  • Great team player and looking for the challenge and excitement of working in a multinational company spanning different regions around the world.
