  • Lead Aftermarket Parts Development: Oversee the development of automotive spare parts for 2nd Branding parts for after-warranty vehicles. Ensure meet the brand’s specifications, while aftermarket parts are developed with specific attention to cost, quality, and durability for the after-warranty market.
  • Branding Parts Development: Lead the development of branded parts specifically designed for vehicles after their warranty period ends. Ensure that these parts are competitively priced, durable, and meet/accepted by customer demands for quality, value, and performance.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a cross-functional team of project team members (engineers, designers, and product development specialists) to deliver acceptable quality parts on time. Guide the team through the unique challenges of developing parts for after-market segments.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams (Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality Control) and external suppliers to ensure that parts are tested, produced, and delivered efficiently. Work closely with marketing teams for effective positioning of aftermarket-branded parts.
  • Supplier and Vendor Management: Evaluate and establish relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers for the 2nd Branding parts. Involves in negotiating pricing, delivery schedules, and managing the supply chain to meet customer demands in the aftermarket areas.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple development projects concurrently, ensuring that parts are developed in line with brand standards, market demands, and budget constraints.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all parts—2nd Branding—go through acceptable quality control and testing procedures to meet automotive standards, industry regulations, and customer expectations.
  • Cost Optimization: Focus on optimizing the cost-effectiveness of 2nd Branding parts, ensuring that cost reductions are balanced with quality and performance standards, especially for after-warranty components.
  • Brand Development: Oversee the strategy for building and expanding the brand’s portfolio of aftermarket parts. Ensure that the parts align with customer expectations for after-warranty replacements in terms of performance, pricing, and PROTON brand identity.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all parts comply with PROTON standards, follow industry regulations and standards. Maintain thorough documentation of part specifications, testing, and approval processes by related departments in PROTON.
  • Customer Focus: Benchmarking, gather and analyze feedback from customers regarding aftermarket parts to enhance future developments and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure that product developed complies with all company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering or any field related.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in automotive parts development, with specific experience in aftermarket parts business for after-warranty vehicles.
  • Experience in the development and Second Branding of parts designed for the aftermarket segment will be an advantage.
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including PowerPoint.
  • Project and team management/leadership skills and experience.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates.
  • Effective planning and priority setting.
  • Able to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to build effective business relationships.
  • Able to work independently in managing daily operations and ad-hoc projects.
  • Able to speak, read and write in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin as the candidate requires to do translation in business terms.
  • Candidate must be willing to work at Glenmarie, Shah Alam.
