What are my job responsibilities?

We invite you to join us as the Manager of Corporate Finance Governance on Technical Topics, where you will play a key role in ensuring alignment with accounting standards and providing meaningful, insightful information to our Management. You will collaborate with other leaders to drive and deliver department-wide improvement initiatives. As a team member who operates in a highly complex accounting & reporting landscape, you will continuously drive initiatives to improve and optimize our system and process landscape.

Detailed description of role:

  1. Liaise with the entire SMO Finance Reporting organization as well as with the experts in CF R HQ to ensure proper accounting treatment for a highly sophisticated project business.
  2. Serve as the interface to the business and have ownership over technical accounting research and the implementation of new accounting standards.
  3. Stay abreast of new projects, emerging business opportunities and evolving accounting guidance.
  4. Draft memos, and liaise with senior management and external auditors on complex technical accounting issues.
  5. Coach our globally distributed team by creating and delivering trainings on existing and new accounting guidance.
  6. Responsible for managing our transaction accounting service providers and processes.
  7. Partner with various teams to do upfront consultations on new deals and provide support with complex contract reviews to ensure compliance with IFRS.

What do I need to qualify for this role?

  1. Minimum 10 years of experience in public or corporate technical accounting at a large, publicly held company coupled with expertise in Financial Reporting Guidelines interpretation.
  2. Clear understanding of percentage of completion (POC) accounting (construction project accounting).
  3. Degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting or equivalent.
  4. Excellent interpersonal savvy and executive presence, including written, verbal, and presentation skills; leadership ability to explain sophisticated accounting topics and financial results to senior leadership.
  5. Exceptional critical thinking skills with the capability to break down complex problems to identify root causes and develop systemic solutions.
  6. Self-motivated, able to work independently, with strong adaptability.
  7. Experience in working in a multinational environment with strong focus in collaborating cross functional & geographical team is a plus.
  8. Proficient in both spoken and written English due to multi-cultural working environment.
  9. Excellent working knowledge of MS Office.
  10. Experience in SAP will be an added advantage.
