Job Description:
Land Strategy
- Participate in Strategic planning for land matters including understanding the strategic aspiration of SD Guthrie Berhad. Ensure identification of business opportunities are in line with the company’s overall strategic goals.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends and opportunities in the industry.
- Plan, manage and report on operational and commercial viability on new business opportunities through vigorous evaluations.
- Lead preparation to enable Head of Department to negotiate and close business deals with partners.
- Participate in other strategic initiatives to enable unlocking of value from land including innovation in financing opportunities.
Supporting Land Management Department
- Design appropriate RFP protocols and evaluation criteria in the assessment of potential partners.
- Gain buy-in and validation across different departments within SD Guthrie and external parties to ensure thorough evaluation and solid recommendation.
- Develop and maintain close relations by networking with Government authorities such as Ministry, State Government, Local Authorities and any other relevant agencies or bodies, to facilitate our business undertakings.
Advisory to Business Units
- Review and provide advisory feedback on projects relating to land matters by Business Units.
Contribution to Group Strategy & Innovation
- Provide guidance and training for commercial and technical matters to team members.
- Cultivate strong relationships with business counterparties while maintaining existing business relationships.
- Prepare business contracts ensuring adherence to law, established rules, and company guidelines.
- Monitor and report on financial and operational performance of business statuses to management.
- Perform any other duties as directed by the Head of Department, from time to time.
Requirement:
- Tertiary education and relevant professional certification/Master’s Degree.
- CFA charter holder will have an added advantage.
- Minimum 7 years of working experience preferably in Corporate Development, Corporate Strategy, Business Planning, and Business Development.
- Experience in leading/managing projects specifically in land-related business development e.g. industrial park developments.
- Multi-lingual and able to work equally well independently or as part of a diverse team.
- Ability to lead and provide guidance to team members and internal stakeholders.
- Self-starter.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office suites (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
