Manager - Investment & Asset Management

Job Purpose:

Are you ready to take the helm in driving strategic growth and maximizing returns? As a Manager (Investment & Asset Management) at UEM Sunrise, you will play a crucial role in shaping our investment portfolio and forging valuable partnerships. You'll work closely with our Deputy General Manager (Joint Venture) to oversee and optimize UEMS' investments, joint ventures, and strategic alliances, ensuring we not only meet but exceed our financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Portfolio Management: Lead the charge in managing a dynamic portfolio of investee companies. Develop and execute value creation plans to enhance returns, conduct thorough reviews, and maintain strong relationships with partners and external stakeholders.
• Performance Tracking & Analysis: Dive into financial data and performance metrics. Utilize advanced financial modelling and valuation techniques to provide insightful analysis and drive strategic decisions.
• Initiative Formulation & Execution: Identify and spearhead new joint venture initiatives. Oversee the full lifecycle of these ventures—from conceptualization to successful implementation.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal divisions and external entities, including tax and legal teams, to ensure seamless execution of joint ventures and investments.
• Opportunity Management: Take charge of identifying, negotiating, and executing new joint venture opportunities. Manage the entire process, including valuation, due diligence, documentation, and board approvals.
• Acquisition & Divestment Oversight: Strategically plan and manage the acquisition, monetization, or divestment of assets to align with UEM Sunrise’s growth objectives.
• Team Leadership: Guide and motivate your sub-team to achieve milestones and deliver on key objectives effectively and efficiently.

What We’re Looking For:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree or Professional Qualification in Accounting, Finance, Corporate Finance, Business, Economics or Real Estate.
• Professional Credentials: Accounting/Finance qualifications such as ICAEW, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CFA are highly desirable.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years in corporate finance or investment management, preferably within the real estate or property development sector.
• Skills & Attributes: Strong knowledge of investment management, financial modelling, and project management. Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills. Exceptional presentation, influencing, and interpersonal abilities. Highly motivated with a robust work ethic.
