Job description

Responsibilities:

  1. Participate and contribute to formulation and implementation of FIMM Strategic Planning and Business Plan.
  2. Lead, manage, train, motivate and provide guidance to subordinates to ensure efficient and timely delivery of high quality work, tasks and projects.
  3. Responsible for/assist in the planning of the department’s resources for the annual budget and ensure efficient utilisation of resources within the department (wherever relevant).
  4. Maintain strong rapport with effective communication and regular engagements, with all stakeholders on matters on FIMM and the industry.
  5. Prepare/assist in preparing regular reports for Senior Manager/General Manager/Chief Executive Officer (wherever relevant).
  6. Perform all duties and assignments as directed by the Senior Manager/General Manager/CEO.

Specific:

  1. Develop and Implement Thought Leadership activities.
  2. Develop and implement Guidelines and Practice Standards for members on matters regarding the administration of Unit Trust Schemes (UTS) and Private Retirement Schemes (PRS).
  3. Assist the Senior Manager/GM/CEO in managing all matters relating to the introduction of innovative products and services for the industry.
  4. Work with the Securities Commission, BNM, EPF and other authorities on policies to promote UTS&PRS.
  5. Assist in Industry Capacity Building activities - i.e. organisation of talks/engagement sessions.
  6. Undertake studies, industry surveys and research related to industry projects or initiatives.
  7. Maintain and enhance a database on Malaysian UT&PRS funds (including unit prices and fund profiles).
  8. Assist in developing, implementing and updating Policies and Procedures (inclusive of Standard Operating Procedures) for the Department.
  9. Support Senior Manager on Regulatory Policy drafting and researching of materials relating to Regulatory matters.
  10. Policy drafting for the industry.
  11. Manage and oversee the tax-related matters and processes affecting the industry.
  12. Update tax matters by monitoring legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and create strategies to capitalise on changes to taxation legislation.
  13. Report to management regarding the tax impact and risk on the industry.

Experience Requirements:

  1. Minimum six (6) years of working experience in the Regulatory, Financial Institutions and Banks' Wealth Management Department Marketing and/or Operations, Unit Trust Companies Marketing and/or Operations, Private Retirement Scheme Marketing and/or Operations and Fund Management Marketing and/or Operations, Tax Consultant specialising in Unit Trust and PRS industry and any other relevant industries.
  2. Proven work experience as an Assistant Tax Manager or Tax Manager.
  3. Minimum two (2) years working with the Board of Directors and relevant regulators.
  4. Investment Management and Financial Planning experience is an advantage.
