The Role:

  • Implement and set up the new IFRS 17 reporting standard requirements and ensure consistency across all entities within Great Eastern.
  • Draft GE Group’s interpretation of the IFRS 17 reporting standard into the Technical Accounting Papers.
  • Design a strategic framework that includes an assessment of the size of the transition block and recommendation for the best transition approach.
  • Drive the design and building of Prophet model architecture for IFRS 17 calculation.
  • Drive and manage end-to-end UAT on the IFRS reporting process.
  • Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
  • Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats, and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
  • Highlights any potential concerns/risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

The Person:

  • Possess Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or Actuarial Sciences, with professional qualifications (e.g. IFoA, SoA).
  • Has more than 5 years of working experience in the actuarial field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, including VBA, Macro, Excel.
  • Experience in Prophet for product modelling and projection.
  • High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
  • Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
