ABOUT THE ROLE
The incumbent will oversee the support of the PLISB Group in analyzing the scope, designing, developing, standardizing, implementing, controlling, and ensuring compliance with credit policies. Additionally, the role will continuously monitor, review, transform, and improve credit operations and processes.
Furthermore, the role will be responsible for developing the Annual Assurance Plan, implementing assurance activities, and ensuring appropriate controls are in place to support effective decision-making.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Drive Credit Management & Assurance
- Assist Head, Group Governance & Assurance to plan, facilitate and manage the implementation of Credit Management & Assurance strategies and activities.
- Manage Development and Implementation of Credit & Assurance Activities
- Assist Head, Group Governance & Assurance to manage the development and implementation of the credit monitoring and assurance activities.
- Monitor and Report Credit & Assurance Activities
- Monitor and report Credit & Assurance activities, including monitoring improvement and mitigation actions to Management on a timely basis.
- Provide Advisory and Support on Credit & Assurance Matters
- Provide advisory and support for stakeholders on credit & assurance matters, ensuring they are aware of their roles and responsibilities.
- Regional Support on Credit & Assurance Matters
- Monitor and support regional focal points to ensure completion of credit & assurance activities.
- Coordinate Internal Audit Activities
- Assist Head, Group Governance & Assurance to manage internal audit activities to ensure audit findings are properly monitored and resolved.
QUALIFICATION
At least a Degree in either Accounting, Economics, or Business.
Key Competencies and Behaviours
- Ability to assess, monitor, and mitigate credit risk effectively.
- Strong understanding of credit scoring, credit risk models, and lending practices.
- Experience in KYC activities, setting credit limits, terms, and monitoring customer credit profiles.
- Experience in conducting assurance activities and evaluating control effectiveness.
- Proficiency in ensuring adherence to company policies and standards/guidelines.
Skills/ Experience/ Knowledge
- At least 10 years of Assurance and Regional Credit Management experience with at least 5 years at Managerial level.
- Experience in handling daily Credit operations, ad hoc requests, and supporting business in problem-solving solutions.
- Exposure to risk mitigating instruments.
- Proficiency in SAP and MS Office.
- Knowledge of the COSO framework will be an added advantage.
