Manager, GRM APAC Enterprise Risk Management

Job Summary
Responsible for contributing to and supporting the execution of RBC's risk management and core governance programs across APAC business and legal entities. This role will support the APAC ERM team and work collaboratively with the CRO APAC as well as the GRM Asia and Australia teams to drive and implement core ERM programs, priorities and targets as defined by the Enterprise, local/regional regulations, and RBC APAC business requirements to ensure proper & effective governance oversight model for the region.

The Manager is for contributing to and supporting the execution of RBC's risk management and core governance programs across APAC business and legal entities. This role will support the APAC ERM team and work collaboratively with the CRO APAC as well as the GRM Asia and Australia teams to drive and implement core ERM programs, priorities and targets as defined by the Enterprise, local/regional regulations, and RBC APAC business requirements to ensure proper & effective governance oversight model for the region.

Working hours are: 9AM-6PM
What will you do?
- Strategic Support Initiatives
- Undertake risk management responsibilities as necessary to support strategic objectives of the APAC CRO.
- Key contact and lead APAC BUORM initiatives.
- Assist in the facilitation of risk reporting (monthly Sydney OC, quarterly Australian Risk Committee and RBC APAC Operating Forum) and liaise with the Office of the Chief Operating Officer (OCOO) APAC team on report submission on a monthly basis.
- Provide updates that highlight the current state of climate-related risks specific to the Australia region for Sydney OC.
- Ensure procedure guide is kept up to date and any process change is reflected.
- Support Asia team as required.
- CPS 220 Annual Review
- Perform annual review of CPS 220 compliance, including regulatory, policies, framework, and addendum refresh (i.e., Refresh RBC Sydney Branch Addendum to the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) and Enterprise Risk appetite Framework (ERAF)) - track to completion.
- Arrange strategic discussion meetings with business line (1LOD) and document minutes of meetings.
- Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) Program
- Monitor and analyze regulatory changes and updates issued by the Australia regulators.
- Deliver quarterly RCM reporting (including trigger assessment), summarizing the identified regulatory changes.
- Continue to enhance processes within the RCM program e.g., RCM reporting, Monitoring & Testing
- Conduct independent monitoring and testing to assess compliance with regulatory requirements.
- GRM Operational Risk Intra-Group Arrangement (IGA)
- Conduct an annual reassessment of the GRM Operational Risk Intra-Group Arrangement in Archer system.
- Assist the Supplier Risk Management Assessment (SRMA) engagement owner from GRM with necessary documentation, including monitor and upload the triage responses, risk assessment details in the Archer system as required.
- Validate contract documents (i.e., Service Agreement, Information Schedule) and ensure alignment with the GRM engagement owner's perception regarding the outsourcing services.
- Liaise with the Enterprise SSC team to submit the IGA contract documents and request for e-signatures from service providers and recipients.
- Malaysia Success Initiatives
- Participate in one of the local working groups (i.e., People Agenda Working, Risk Awareness Working Group, and Innovation Working Group) aimed at fostering a collaborative, engaged workplace and help achieve GRM strategic priorities.
- Complete mandatory training courses ensuring compliance with RBC internal requirements and participate additional learning programs to support skill development, career growth, and personal enrichment.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Law or other related fields.
- 8+ years previous experience work in a Risk Management role in a Financial Services organization.
- Managing projects for multiple stakeholders.
- Business analysis and strategic thinking.
- Idea generation and evaluation.
- Leadership and coaching skills in guiding juniors.
- Strong knowledge of project lifecycle, business transformation and analysis in senior management / committee reporting.
- Familiarity with Bank APAC regulatory landscape.
- Managing work and deliverables to meet set milestones.
- Managing stakeholders to gain consensus and deliver the solution/proposal.
- Guide the team on tasks and projects towards successful completion.
- Proven ability to influence partners and challenge the status quo, including handling conflicts and issue resolution.
- Lead and guide the team towards successful completion of tasks and projects.
- Ability to turn preliminary or ambiguous information, ideas, or problems into well-defined plans and solutions.
- Consistent track record in project management and coordination / integration efforts across multiple groups.
- Ability to work independently and proactively drive next steps for project and business analysis related tasks.
- Ability to apply Subject Matter Expertise in stakeholder conversations and projects.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills.
