Job Summary

The Manager in Lam’s Global Manufacturing Academy training team loves to learn and teach, collaborates well with others, shares knowledge, and enjoys creating processes to ensure an aligned approach to technical training in our Asia based factories. Success in the role requires strong leadership, program management, facilitation and organizational skills; being self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to seek answers and drive solutions; and the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships at all levels with local and global partners.

In this role, you will represent Global Manufacturing Academy with our Asia manufacturing sites to drive strategic alignment and adoption of global processes and programs through active partnership with local factory training teams and leaders. This role will coordinate and deliver leadership training content for supervisors to help with upskilling efforts as needed in the Asia region. Additionally, you will lead a small team focused on providing timely support for program management and Learning Management System administration activities. This position will report to the Sr. Manager of Global Manufacturing Academy.

The successful candidate is an experienced people leader who is familiar with the execution of technical training, onboarding, upskilling, and front-line leadership development programs. In addition, candidates must possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, have a passion for learning, and be committed to developing and retaining top learning and development talent dedicated to Manufacturing Academy.

Job Description

  • Act as a strategic partner with factory site training leadership and partner groups to ensure learning solutions are in alignment with organizational priorities and support global training objectives
  • Manage projects and programs to drive adoption of global training standards, processes, KPIs, and records management strategy in the Asia region
  • Partner with factory sites to deliver Supervisor Essentials program at regular intervals to support front-line leadership development
  • Gather feedback on effectiveness of global and local programs for future improvements to content and accompanying materials from sites that are executing globally owned programs
  • Monitor program effectiveness and deliver learning analytics to demonstrate ROI to site and Manufacturing Academy and site-level leaders
  • Hire, develop, and retain a team of learning professionals to ensure training acumen and adult learning expertise advances in the organization
  • Actively participate as a member of the Cross-Factory Core Team for Manufacturing Academy global collaboration
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, relevant experience is required with 6-8 years of management experience in a corporate learning environment. An advanced degree preferred
  • Instructional design experience with deep understanding of learning and development principles and methodologies
  • Capable of inspiring trust and confidence through effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Ability to respond quickly to changes and urgent requests and to adjust approaches to align with business needs.
  • Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams, partner with other groups and meet program objectives
  • Ability to read, write, and converse fluently in English
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 10% (includes domestic and international)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Success in this role requires being action-oriented and customer-focused, adjusting to changing priorities, and working independently while maintaining a high degree of accountability and collaboration to accomplish work assignments
  • Additional skills and experience beneficial for this role include experience supporting manufacturing environments, knowledge of SAP or other production systems, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and LMS programs such as Cornerstone on Demand
