Job Title: Senior Analyst (Manager), Direct Investment and Manufacturing Sector

ROLE PURPOSE:

Manage a team in the following areas:

  • Evaluate, review and provide recommendations on issues relating to foreign exchange policy (FEP) rules to continuously promote competitiveness of the economy while maintaining financial and monetary stability.
  • Implement effective corporate surveillance framework to harness market intelligence and pre-empt potential macro-economic risks by leveraging on corporate engagement and ‘Big Data’ approach.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Assess FEP measures with a principal focus on capital flow regulations relating to direct investments and provide policy recommendations to address financial stability risks.
  • Lead and supervise team in implementing data-driven surveillance framework on direct investment flows and macroeconomic risks arising from cross-border capital flows derived from secondary business sector like manufacturing, property and construction industries.
  • Review assessment on FEP applications by balancing the impact to financial stability and enhancing business efficiency.
  • Keep abreast with financial market developments and regional benchmarking to emulate good practices of other countries in ensuring effectiveness of FEP implementation.
  • Formulate FEP strategies for government initiatives, international collaboration platforms or engagements with international organisations.
  • Build and foster networking with internal and external stakeholder to solicit input or feedback through market intelligence for FEP formulation.
  • Identify and plan developmental needs of subordinates as well as coaching and guiding subordinates in discharging their responsibilities.

CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS:

  • Strong analytical skills; Ability to draw linkages between the use of foreign exchange policy (FEP) tool and macro-economic implications.
  • Sound knowledge of financial system, macro-economy and business sectors, both domestically and globally.
  • Conversant with FEP rules.
  • Data-driven, with the ability to translate statistics and market feedback into value-added insights.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate work and engagement with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt and respond timely in fast-paced environment.
  • Sound knowledge on accounting, finance, economics, capital flows, foreign exchange and capital markets.

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE:

  • Academic qualifications: Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Banking, Finance or other related fields. Professional qualification would be an advantage.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of working experience with sound knowledge of governing rules and Acts.
