As the Manager, Data Management at Hong Leong Assurance Berhad, you will be responsible for overseeing and implementing the organization's data management strategy. This role will collaborate with various departments to understand their data needs and ensure data is managed effectively to support business objectives and drive informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Strategy and Governance:
   • Develop and implement a comprehensive data management strategy aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements.
   • Define roles and responsibilities related to data ownership, stewardship, and accountability.
   • Ensure compliance with relevant data regulations.
2. Data Quality Management:
   • Define and implement data quality standards and metrics.
   • Establish processes for data cleansing, validation, and monitoring to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
   • Identify and resolve data quality issues in collaboration with relevant teams.
   • Implement data quality tools and technologies.
3. Data Architecture and Modelling:
   • Collaborate with IT and other stakeholders to define and maintain the organization's data architecture.
   • Develop and maintain data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
   • Contribute to the design and implementation of data warehouses, data lakes, and other data repositories.
4. Data Security and Privacy:
   • Implement and enforce data security policies and procedures to protect sensitive information.
   • Collaborate with IT security teams to ensure data security measures are in place.
   • Manage data access controls and permissions.
   • Stay informed about data privacy regulations and ensure compliance.
5. Data Integration and Interoperability:
   • Oversee data integration processes between different systems and applications.
   • Define standards for data exchange and interoperability.
   • Collaborate with technical teams to implement data integration solutions (e.g., ETL, ELT).
   • Foster strong working relationships with stakeholders across different departments (e.g., IT, Analytics, Marketing, Sales).
   • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences regarding data management initiatives.
6. Technology Evaluation and Implementation:
   • Evaluate and recommend data management tools and technologies to support the organization's needs.
   • Oversee the implementation and adoption of new data management systems and processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in data management roles, with demonstrated experience in developing and implementing data management strategies and governance frameworks.
• Proven experience with data modelling, database design, data warehousing concepts, and ETL/ELT processes.
• Strong understanding of data quality principles, data security best practices, and data privacy regulations.
• Experience with data management tools and technologies (e.g., data governance platforms, data quality tools, database management systems).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate teams (if applicable).
• Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
