Job Description
Provide the secretariat function to the Shariah committee (SC) as well as the administrative and managerial support to the SC. In addition, carry out the Shariah research function to support the Bank's business and strategic plan.
Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end SC meeting process and engagement session with the Board of Directors (BOD), Senior Management and other relevant business/support units (BU/SU).
- Manage end-to-end SC assessment and performance evaluation on yearly basis, including reviewing the Assessment Form.
- Manage end-to-end process of appointment, reappointment and cessation of SC members.
- Review Shariah and business papers/proposals from relevant stakeholders and BU/SU prior to submission to SC.
- Review internal policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), guidelines and standards related to the Shariah Secretariat to ensure compliance with Shariah, internal as well as regulatory requirements.
- Identify the Shariah research area to be conducted based on the business and strategy plan of the institution as well as conduct, comprehensively study and/or review on the identified Shariah research areas and gain input from SC and relevant BU/SU.
Education/Qualification- Bachelor's Degree in Laws
