Job Summary
We are looking for motivated individuals to join our Retail Management Trainee Program. This program offers hands-on experience in all areas of retail operations, including inventory management, customer service, team leadership, and sales analysis. Trainees will work closely with Area Managers and Outlet Supervisors, gaining valuable insights and mentorship. The program combines on-the-job training and structured learning to develop leadership skills and prepare trainees for future management roles. Upon completion, trainees will be equipped to take on leadership positions and drive the success of our retail outlets.

- Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Prior experience in retail or a supervisory role is advantageous.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Mandarin is required; proficiency in English or Bahasa Malaysia is an added advantage.

- Possession of a valid driver’s license (occasional travel may be required).

Tasks & Responsibilities
- Learning and Development
- Participate in structured in-house, external, and on-the-job training programs to acquire best practices, essential knowledge, and hands-on experience in retail management.
- Develop management capabilities and competencies to prepare for future leadership roles.
- Daily Outlet Management and Operational Support
- Support the Area Manager and Outlet Supervisor in managing daily outlet operations, including performance reporting and identifying improvement areas.
- Perform routine tasks such as organizing product displays, creating duty rosters, rotating stock, and overseeing store opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure adherence to company policies to maintain a well-organized and efficient work environment.
- Process customer purchases accurately using system, verifying product availability and pricing.
- Operate the cashier system proficiently, handling cash, debit/credit cards, and e-wallet payments (e.g., Touch ‘n Go, GrabPay).
- Perform cash reconciliations at the beginning and end of each shift.
- People Management and Team Support
- Monitor staff attendance and overtime; ensure timely submission of HR-related documents (e.g., attendance, overtime) to the HR department for payroll processing.
- Report health, safety, and disciplinary issues to the Area Manager, HR, and COO.
- Assist in setting and monitoring individual and outlet KPIs (e.g., sales targets, customer satisfaction). Prepare and submit KPI reports.
- Support onboarding and training new hires, and conduct daily briefings to communicate store goals and updates.
- Customer Service
- Provide excellent customer service by resolving inquiries and complaints professionally.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked store to enhance the shopping experience.
- Monitor compliance with company policies on theft prevention, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Implement loss prevention strategies, including routine security checks and monitoring high-risk areas.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations for proper food handling and storage.
- Monitor and manage stock levels, collaborating with the purchasing coordinator and warehouse team for timely replenishment.
- Support in-store promotions and upselling initiatives to meet revenue targets.
- Conduct regular inventory checks, identifying slow-moving items and working with purchasing and marketing teams to boost sales.
- Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare accurate reports and analyze data as and when required to identify operational trends, propose actionable improvements, and support management decisions.
- Provide feedback on operational challenges and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Additional Duties
- Undertake additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned to support business objectives.
- Participate in company-wide initiatives, including marketing campaigns and team-building activities, to enhance customer engagement and strengthen team cohesion.
- Process transactions accurately using software, ensuring correct product availability, pricing, and order management.
- Ensure proper cash handling procedures, including accurate reconciliations at the start and end of each shift.
