Management Accountant

We are looking for a management accountant who will be responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing budgets and forecasts, providing insights to management on financial performance, and assisting with strategic decision-making by creating reports that highlight key financial trends, financial ratios and potential areas for cost optimization, all while ensuring compliance with financial regulations. They will be required to translate complex financial information into actionable insights for management to make informed decisions for the business.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Budgeting and Forecasting: Creating and managing annual budgets, forecasting future financial performance, and monitoring variances against the budget.
2. Analyzing financial data to identify trends, assess profitability, and evaluate the financial health of different business units.
3. Cost Management: Identifying and implementing cost-saving measures, analyzing cost drivers, and preparing cost reports.
4. Performance Reporting: Preparing regular financial reports for management, including management accounts, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs).
5. Strategic Planning: Collaborating with senior management to develop strategic plans, including financial projections and investment analysis.
6. Capital Expenditure Analysis: Evaluating potential capital investments and their financial implications.
7. Accounting Process Improvement: Identifying areas for improvement in accounting processes and implementing changes to streamline operations.
8. Compliance: Ensuring adherence to relevant accounting standards and regulations.

Required Skills:

1. Strong analytical skills: Ability to interpret complex financial data and draw meaningful conclusions.
2. Excellent communication skills: Effectively communicating financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
3. Attention to detail: Ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and data analysis.
4. Proficiency in accounting software: Expertise in accounting software like Autocount and SQL.
5. Problem-solving skills: Identifying and resolving financial issues.
6. Microsoft Office skills: Strong proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting.

Education and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance.

Professional accounting certifications like CIMA, CA, CPA, or ACCA is required.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years experience in management accounting for large / listed companies.
