Maintenance Engineer (Electrical)

About the role

We are urgently seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer specialized in Electrical Engineering for Asset Integrity/ Asset Management System to join the team at Idemitsu SM (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd in our Pasir Gudang, Johor facility. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our electrical and electronic systems and equipment. This full-time position is crucial in supporting the company's commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality products and services to our customers.

What you'll be doing

• Conducting proactive and reactive maintenance on electrical and electronic equipment and systems of our petrochemical plant
• Analyze and identify equipment reliability risks which could adversely affect plant stable operation
• Troubleshooting and diagnosing issues to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
• Implementing preventative maintenance programmes to minimise downtime and maximise equipment lifespan
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to plan and execute maintenance activities
• Maintaining detailed records and documentation of all Asset Management and Asset Integrity activities
• Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing innovative solutions
• Ensuring compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga and all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Engineer specialized in Electrical Engineering, preferably in the oil & gas/ petrochemical/ heavy industry
• Strong technical knowledge and understanding of electrical and electronic systems and equipment
• Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Possess good analytical skill.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and provide effective leadership
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to continuously improving processes and procedures
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
