We are seeking a dedicated and analytical individual to join our Group Finance team as an Analyst, specialising in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and collaborating closely with the Executive Chairman, the Analyst will play a crucial role in assessing acquisitions, financial modelling, and coordinating due diligence processes.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Market Review: Conduct market research to identify strategic acquisition targets, maintaining and managing databases and registers to support the monitoring and analysis of past and potential opportunities.
  2. Assessing Acquisitions: Conducting financial modelling and valuation activities, collaborating with technical experts and integrating due diligence findings.
  3. Financial Modelling: Develop comprehensive financial models for prospective acquisitions.
  4. Deal Structuring: Review term sheets and assist in structuring deals to meet strategic objectives.
  5. Due Diligence Coordination: Facilitate and manage data rooms while coordinating financial and commercial due diligence.
  6. Investment Committee Submissions: Prepare high-quality submissions and reports for the Investment Committee.
  7. Preparation of case studies for all acquired companies to track before and after performance, cost and revenue synergies, and employee/client attrition.
  8. Deferred Consideration Tracking: Monitor and calculate deferred consideration for acquired businesses.

Key Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  1. Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
  2. Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience in an investment bank, private equity (PE) firm, or an in-house corporate finance (CF) team.
  3. Analytical Skills: Excellent numerical and analytical abilities, combined with strong commercial acumen.
  4. Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the capability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders to drive successful outcomes, including liaison with target companies to collect and understand data that is critical for the assessment process and building the necessary financial models.
