General Scope
The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the end-to-end logistics operations to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and safe movement of mechanical components, electronic parts, and finished PCB products. This role plays a key part in managing inbound and outbound logistics, optimizing transportation, ensuring trade compliance, and supporting smooth supply chain operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics Operations Management
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor all inbound and outbound logistics operations including domestic and international shipments of raw materials, components, and finished goods.
- Manage third-party logistics providers, freight forwarders, and transport companies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Ensure proper handling and transportation of sensitive and high-value mechanical and PCB components according to ESD and safety standards.
Strategic Planning & Optimization
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to reduce costs, improve delivery performance, and support production schedules.
- Analyze transportation costs and service levels; identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
- Collaborate with production planning, procurement, and warehouse teams to align logistics operations with supply chain objectives.
Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery of materials and components for manufacturing needs.
- Manage buffer stock, lead times, and delivery schedules to prevent production delays.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, import/export laws, and hazardous material handling (if applicable).
- Oversee preparation of shipping documents, customs declarations, commercial invoices, and other required paperwork.
- Maintain accurate logistics and transportation records in ERP/WMS systems.
Team Management
- Lead, train, and develop logistics staff to support operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Monitor performance metrics (KPIs) such as OTIF (On-Time In-Full), freight cost per unit, and delivery accuracy.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Industrial Engineering.
Experience:
- Minimum 5–7 years of logistics or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Proven experience managing logistics in an electronics or mechanical component manufacturing setting is highly preferred.
- Experience in international logistics, customs clearance, and freight forwarding.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Monitor ERP or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of logistics operations, Incoterms, and transportation cost structures.
- Knowledge of ESD-compliant handling for electronic parts and PCBs.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and manage multiple priorities.
Certifications (Preferred but not required):
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD).
- IATA/DG handling certification (for air freight involving hazardous materials).
- Customs or trade compliance training.
