A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As Logistics Manager at MKS organization, you are responsible for the supply chain management, warehouse and inventory control, customs and compliance, vendor and carrier management, lead a team, cost optimization and reposting as well as ensure continuous improvement.
In this role, you will report to the General Manager.
You Will Make an Impact by:
1. Supply Chain Management:
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor logistics operations including inbound/outbound shipments, warehousing and distribution.
- Optimize transportation routes and freight costs (air, sea, road).
- Ensure timely delivery of goods while minimizing delays and disruptions.
- Provide solution and flexibility to fulfil customers’ requirements.
2. Warehouse & Inventory Control:
- Oversee warehouse operations, including storage, order fulfillment, and stock accuracy.
- Implement inventory management best practices to prevent shortages or overstocking.
3. Customs & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian import/export regulations and customs procedures.
- Handle documentation (e.g., shipping permits, duty/tax filings) and liaise with authorities.
- Ensure local logistics and Customs activities align with MKS GTC policy.
4. Vendor & Carrier Management:
- Negotiate contracts with freight forwarders, 3PL providers, and transportation companies.
- Monitor carrier performance and resolve logistics-related issues.
- Ensure local logistics activities align with MKS corporate logistics policy.
5. Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor logistics staff, fostering a productive and safety-conscious work environment.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide training as needed.
- Cross department cooperation to enhance the capabilities and abilities of logistics, warehouse and Customs clearance team.
6. Cost Optimization & Reporting:
- Analyze logistics costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare reports on KPIs (on-time delivery, freight costs, inventory accuracy).
7. Continuous Improvement:
- Implement process improvements using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements in logistics.
Skills You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years in logistics/supply chain management, preferably in manufacturing or multinational environments.
- Proficiency in logistics software - Oracle, WMS, TMS, E2OPEN and MS Office.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Malaysian customs regulations and international trade practices.
- Effective leadership skill, high adaptability, and excellent communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in logistics (e.g., ASCM, CLTD) or Lean Six Sigma.
- Experience in industrial sector (semiconductor, electronics, medical devices, or automotive).
