Supervise Logistics Team Member in ensuring that all Company HSSE requirements and standards are met to eliminate potential risk of accident/incident in all Logistics areas of activities.
Job purpose of a Logistics HSSE Coordinator includes training/guiding of co-workers on HSSE matters, identifying hazards at the workplace, inspecting equipment, enforcing HSSE policies, promoting company HSSE safety culture, safeguarding Logistic Assets and Inventory, and coordinating various HSSE campaigns and training programs.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
Participate actively in Company HSSE programs and contribute freely to the achievement of the Company’s HSSE policies and objectives.
Through personal commitment and involvement, contribute to the safe and environmentally responsible operations of the Company’s day-to-day operations by complying with all HSSE policies and procedures and actively contributing to improvement through hazard and incident reporting and suggesting improvements.
Ensure supply base operations comply with HSSE related regulatory requirements and Company HSSE requirements.
Inspect and mitigate any unsafe conditions at place of work.
Correct any unsafe practices.
Check contractors' work to ensure compliance with Company HSSE requirements and liaise with contractors’ supervisors/workers with respect to safety of work undertaken by contractors.
Liaise with regulators on HSSE related matters.
Be the secretary for the supply base Worksite HSSE Committee.
Provide technical support and leadership regarding Company HSSE reporting requirements.
Monitor and register HSSE hazards and issues associated with supply base activities and ensure appropriate remedial actions are taken.
Assist in accident/incident prevention by coaching hazard management techniques, such as Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Job Observation Biweekly Surveillance (JOBS), Hazard Hunt etc.
Review, coordinate and complete all necessary HSSE performance data and reports accurately and on schedule to corporate HSSE.
Provide support for emergency management during any emergencies at the supply base.
Conduct HSSE Campaigns and Promotions at the supply base.
Ensure the PPE requirements for supply base activities are complied with.
Any other duties as reasonably directed by your supervisor or Manager.
Requirements:
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in an engineering or science discipline; or Bachelor’s degree in an occupational health and safety or environmental or security related discipline; or Professional Certificate or Diploma in an occupational health and safety or environmental or security related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience (minimum for Degree holder) or 8 years’ experience (minimum for Diploma holder) or 10 years’ experience (minimum Professional Certificate holder) in oil and gas occupational health and safety, security or environmental experiences.
Good understanding of occupational safety and health issues and regulatory requirements.
Knowledge of regional and federal occupational safety and health issues and regulatory requirements.
A self-starter and contributes proactively to the continuous improvement of the company HSSE Management System.
HSSE knowledge/experience in the Logistics Area i.e. Supply Base, Warehousing, Marine Aviation, Land Transport activities, and the inspection regime will be an added advantage.
